Project Overview / Description

Townsville City Council has engaged CivilPlus Constructions to construct a 9.5km pipeline from Ross River Dam to the Douglas Water Treatment Plant. The purpose of this project is to duplicate the existing aging pipeline and enhance Townsville’s water security. When complete this new pipeline is expected to provide 85% of the city’s water supply.

Project Features:

    • 9.5km of 1290OD steel pipe
    • Pipeline crossing under the Ross River
    • Installation of ancillary structures and services including: - Scour valves - Air valves - Sluice valves - Flowmeters - Manhole access pits - Dosing pits
    • Hydrostatic testing of new pipeline
    • Cutover from existing pipeline to new pipeline
