Project Overview / Description

CivilPlus Constructions was engaged by Townsville City Council to replace the existing inlet pipeline servicing Douglas
Reservoirs No. 2 and No. 3. The project involves the construction of approximately 248 m of DN800 PE100 HDPE
pipeline, including connections to the existing water supply infrastructure, replacement of the inlet control valve and
construction of a new valve chamber.
The works are being undertaken within an operational potable water facility and require careful coordination with existing
infrastructure to maintain the operation of the reservoir system throughout construction.

Project Features:

    • 248m of DN800 PE100 HDPE pipeline
    • Replacement of existing aging inlet pipeline infrastructure
    • HDPE butt welding and large diameter pipeline installation
    • Connections and cut over to existing reservoir infrastructure
    • New electrically actuated control valve and valve chamber
    • Rock excavation and vibration monitoring adjacent to existing reservoir structures
    • Hydrostatic testing, flushing and disinfection of the new potable water main
    • Decommissioning and removal of existing inlet infrastructure
