Yungaburra Raw Water Intake Replacement

Project Overview / Description

CivilPlus Constructions was engaged by Tablelands Regional Council to deliver the Yungaburra Raw Water Intake Replacement project as a design and construct project. The upgrade aimed to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the existing pipeline infrastructure supplying the Yungaburra Pump Station.

Works began in mid-2024 with the supply of precast concrete items, fabrication of a new floating pontoon, and procurement of long-lead electrical items. CivilPlus commenced onsite work in September 2024. Due to wet weather events, the project was completed in March 2025, marking the successful delivery of this important infrastructure upgrade for the Yungaburra community.

Project Features:

    • Supply and installation of a new 500m water intake line consisting of DN225 PE pipe and 5 x DN100 PE electrical conduits
    • Fabrication and installation of 154 precast concrete ballast blocks (470kg each) to secure the new pipeline to the dam floor
    • Supply and installation of 22 buoys and beacons, including ballast blocks
    • Supply and installation of a new floating pontoon and anchor blocks, including 3 x raw water submersible pumps
    • Supply and installation of a new main switchboard, Ergon board, Harmonics filter
    • Commissioning of all works associated with the raw water intake pontoon and rising main works
    • Demolition, removal, and disposal of the existing raw water rising main, intake pontoon and anchor blocks
