AIMS - Replacement of Dual Saltwater Intake Pipelines
Project Overview / Description
Installation of Dual saltwater intake pipelines, off shore from the AIMS Cape Ferguson Facility approximately 50km South of Townsville. The project is located in a marine park area and all works required permission
and environmental approvals from the following agencies QPWS, GBRMPA, TCC, EPA and Marine Parks. Project completed on time and budget.
Project Features:
- Manage design of the anchorage system for pipeline
- Installation of two intake lines— 280m & 490m long—200mm HDPE
- 400m of Directional boring day lighting 2m below Low water mark
- CivilPlus have cast all anchor blocks to AS3600 in house
- Fabricating and pressure testing of pipe strings prior to installation
- All works located in marine park boundaries
